The 2nd Annual Wellness Rewards Congress
Proven Strategies for Incentivizing and Motivating Healthy Behavior Change and Achieving Healthcare Cost Containment
April 29 – 30, 2010 • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort • Orlando, FLMake no mistake; now more than ever…it pays to have a healthy workforce.
Health promotion and preventive health management are core components of America’s healthcare reform plan. Consequently, employers have never before had more incentive to invest in workplace health promotion programs and the health and well-being of their employees. Similarly the opportunity for health plans to curb costs through meaningful health promotion collaboration with plan sponsors has never been greater.
In response, Global Media Dynamics is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Wellness Rewards Congress; an in-depth and case-study driven event designed specifically to enable health plans and employers to more effectively capitalize on the value of preventive health management and value based benefit design to enhance their current wellness program offerings, and maximize financial, clinical and human capital program returns.
The 2010 Congress will further expand upon best practices and actionable strategies, implemented by leading health plans and employers, to more effectively curb rising healthcare costs through innovative wellness programming based upon behavior change, lifestyle modification, incentives and disincentives and appropriately targeted intervention and education.
Learn specifically how:
- • Nelnet looks at the underlying factors that drive unhealthy lifestyle choices to achieve meaningful engagement and behavior change
- • HealthPartners achieves optimal clinical and financial outcomes through longstanding and validated ROI assessment means
- • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota fosters engagement and empowers its members to take greater control of their health status
- • Navistar leverages both rewards and disincentives to improve healthcare cost containment and gain workforce buy-in for health promotion
- • Lincoln Industries has integrated wellness into the company’s core business strategy to achieve impressive and promising results
In addition to providing the latest market-based intelligence on health promotion and wellness incentive programs, the Wellness Rewards Congress will provide you with unprecedented networking and professional development opportunities. WORKSHOP A:
Thursday, April 29, 2010 • 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.It’s All About Engagement - Optimizing Engagement and Overcoming Barriers to Health Coaching
Most often your employees or plan members who are in the greatest need of intervention and/or assistance regarding their health status or lifestyle, are the ones who are most resistant to engaging in health coaching. During this session will highlight proven success strategies for achieving meaningful engagement from your population; including those who are resistant and/or initially unwilling to participate in health coaching, case management or other behavioral interventions. We will additionally highlight the importance and provide a blue print for successfully transitioning your moderate to high-risk members into appropriately targeted interventions; including disease management programs. Participants of this session will walk away with clear understanding of:
- • Health coaching – what is it, how does it work and is it right for my organization and population?
- • Analyzing risk stratification data to determine your at-risk population members
- • Outreach to individuals deemed appropriate for health coaching or case management
- • How to effectively engage employees who are resistant to healthy behavior change and/or health coaching
- • How to overcome resistance from employees to gain sincere acceptance to readiness to change
- • Leveraging non-traditional outreach and communications mechanisms to reach employees in remote areas or who are not ‘tech savvy’
About Your Workshop Leader: Allyson Faist, RN, MBA, is President and CEO of MEDeCOACH. Allyson developed MEDeCOACH on the principle that one-to-one coaching is the most effective way to change lifestyle behaviors. Allyson has more than 20 years executive and entrepreneurial experience within the healthcare sector. She began her career as a nurse in New York City working in Medical Intensive Care. Since then, her focus has been on cost effective, preventive health management products and services designed to keep people out of the hospital.
WORKSHOP B:
Friday, April 30, 2010 • 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.Capitalizing on Value-Based Benefit Design: Innovative Strategies that Engage and Maximize Wellness Program Effectiveness
Today, employers and health plans have even greater motivation than ever before to incorporate wellness reward and healthy living programs into their healthcare and productivity cost containment strategies. Proper design of these programs is critical to ensure that the desired program outcomes and financial results are achieved; along with HIPAA, ADA and most recently, GINA compliance. This instructional workshop session will provide participants with proven strategies for achieving maximum engagement and meaningful behavior change. We will focus on a variety of incentives designed to drive participation in wellness programs; all geared towards achieving optimal results; from both financial and health improvement standards. In addition, attendees will be exposed to various wellness plan designs that reduce risk and improve outcomes within federal compliance guidelines.
Participants of this workshop will walk away with clear understanding and knowledge of:
- • The importance of establishing program goals and objectives
- • Strategies for achieving maximum participation and behavior change
- • How to evaluate program results and develop alternative strategies for targeting certain health risks
- • How legislation affects plan design
- • Best practices by the CDC
- • Successful case studies
